Applications for Town and Village Renewal Scheme are closed
The Scheme is an initiative under the Government’s Action Plan for Rural Development, Realising our Rural Potential, and the recently announced Project Ireland2040, and is designed to help rural Ireland achieve its full economic and social potential. It is part of a package of national and local support measures to rejuvenate rural towns and villages throughout Ireland.
The 2017 scheme specifically targeted rural towns and villages with populations of less than 10,000, supporting rural regeneration over a 15 month period. Applications from towns could range from €20,000 to a maximum of €100,000, with a major emphasis on measures which have a clear economic impact on rural towns and villages.
Leitrim County Council secured a total of €1,098,538 out of a national allocation of €21,637425 for the following projects. The following two projects were supported by the Community Development Section.
- Renovations to St Felims College, Ballinamore
- Roosky Tourism Initatives
