As Storm Brendan tracks to the North West of Ireland, winds will reach mean speeds of 65-80 kmph with gusts of 110-130 kmph, highest in coastal areas.
Leitrim County Council's Emergency Response Management Team have met to prepare for the storm and have issued the following advice:
i) The public should avoid exposed coasts and high ground, if possible, until the #StatusOrange alert has passed.
ii) Motorists should be mindful of falling debris, strong cross winds and the possibility of localised flooding on roads.
iii) Property owners are advised to secure their property (signage, bins etc.) to ensure that it does not pose a risk to others.
Leitrim County Council crews will be on standby to respond to any emergency.
Power outages may be expected and can be reported to ESB Networks at 1850 372 999.
Further updates will be provided on local and national media and on Leitrim County Council social media channels.
